The Lakeland Sister Cities will be hosting students from their Sister City, Imabari, Japan this August. We are currently looking for host families for the 16 students and 3 chaperones that will be coming to Lakeland. The students will visit Lakeland from Wednesday, August 10 until Sunday, August 21. The main job you will have is providing a place for them to sleep, as well as getting to know the student. Sister Cities representatives will have activities for the students to do during the day and they will be yours to enjoy most evenings. There will be a couple of family days during the weekend when the Japanese child will “hang out” with their host family. Next summer, American Student Hosts will have the opportunity to visit Imabari, Japan as a student ambassador if they choose to do so. Santa Fe Catholic High School students have been participating in the exchange for the past 20 years. Last year, 7 Santa Fe Catholic students were part of the group that went to Japan for two weeks.
