SFC has implemented a new mentoring program this year – Serving for Christ. The mentoring program is committed to building strong, trusting relationships outside of the classroom.  Students will develop life skills while following in the footsteps of Christ. The students will participate in service projects throughout the school year involving hunger & poverty, the environment, human rights and the community.

On Sept. 27, students broke out into groups for their class specific service project.

  • 9th: Food Drive Competition- Students created posters/campaign to encourage people to donate food to their mentoring group and will present collection at Mass on Oct. 4. img_7286
  • 10th: House Plants for Seniors (through VISTE) – Students decorated pots and planted house plants to be donated.
  • 11th: Great American No Bull Challenge – Students created posters/campaign to end bullying and made a poster/campaign designed for SFC AND one of our feeder schools. Mentoring groups were also encouraged to enter a video into the national competition.
  • 12th: Reading Videos – Each mentoring group made videos of themselves reading children’s books that can be distributed to local feeder schools and elementary schools. Audacity is a fantastic tool for the audio!img_7278Seniors
